"I was never bored in class because I found the lessons well structured and interesting."
My name is Giulia and I arrived in Grenoble in September as a European volunteer at Grenoble University's IUT2. I studied French in high school and university, but I'd never put it into practice in everyday life. In fact, this is my first time in France!
With the start of the second lockdown at the end of October, it was very difficult to find the opportunity to practice the language, but the CUEF course I took at a distance (evening classes, as I work during the day) really helped me to fill at least part of that gap. It gave me the opportunity to interact with other students who, like me, were learning French. I was never bored in class because I found the lessons well structured and interesting.
This made my stay in Grenoble very enjoyable, even if I had to live with the restrictions! As soon as I had the chance to go out, I wasted no time in exploring parks, mountains and museums. My favorite place is the Jardin des Dauphins, a garden I'd recommend to anyone who wants to get away from the city without having to go very far. Plus, with a half-hour walk, you can enjoy a magnificent view.
After my stay here, I'll probably do a master's degree in Italy, my home country, but I won't hide the fact that I really like the idea of coming back to live here once I've finished my studies!
