Patricia left Angola and arrived in Grenoble in December 2019. With no command of the French language, she began her apprenticeship with the help of several associations. The confinement of 2020 forced her to stop, and she continued her progress independently via websites and with the help of her host family.
During this period, Patricia learns about DU Passerelle for students in exile. She passed the selection process and began training in September 2020. Studying is not easy, even less so that year, as most of the courses are given by distance learning. Patricia obtained her diploma in May 2021, which opened the doors to a French university.
At the same time, she applied for a sandwich course in SME management. In the absence of a company, she abandoned this project and joined a DELF Pro training course with Pôle Emploi to improve her level of written French and enable her to discover the world of work in France.
As part of this program, the CUEF in Grenoble welcomed Patricia for an observation period in the administrative professions. She will work in the reception, schooling, finance, HR, partners and communications departments, discovering the wealth of jobs available at the university!
Her plans for next year? She has just received her Bac +3 in communications and graphic design, which she obtained in Brazil in 2007. This means she can join a work-study program for the 2022 academic year. She is already preparing her applications for the courses she is aiming for (management, economics and business administration).
