2:00 p.m. - Educational Workshops

November 26, 2026
Four teachers from the CUEF invite you to discover new ways of teaching languages—in this case, French. Each workshop will be offered twice, at 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Come join us!

Poetry in Chorus and in the Body

Gaëlle Karcher
How can we bring a poem to life with multiple voices? How can we have fun with words and explore their musicality? How can we play with rhythm and pauses? How can we project our voices and correct our pronunciation while moving? How can we draw on our collective energy to express ourselves more effectively?
In this workshop, participants will be invited to explore choral work as a way to recite a poem together (though not necessarily at the same time); they will be encouraged to play with the text as a rhythmic, sonic, and sensory score, and to bring the words to life through their voices and bodies so that they can be heard more clearly.

Fun and Collaborative Activities

Adélaïde Strzoda
We will review certain fundamentals of the A1/A2 levels (such as vocabulary related to the body, numbers, and adjectives used to describe a person’s character—both male and female) through collaborative and fun activities. We will explore how these types of activities help boost learner motivation and facilitate language learning.

This workshop is open to everyone—native French speakers, those still finding their footing, and experienced writers alike.

Digital Scavenger Hunt: The Mystery Personality

Farida Ibbari
The CUEF archives have lost track of a prominent figure… Can you find them?
Come try out a sneak preview of a scavenger hunt designed especially for the event. Work as a team to explore the building, decipher clues, tackle linguistic and numerical challenges, and try to identify the mystery guest.
A fun experiment to explore the possibilities of digital technology in French as a Foreign Language (FLE) from a different perspective, test the system, and adapt it before implementing it.
This workshop serves as an initial test of the program; therefore, participant feedback will be an integral part of the experience.
A cell phone and Internet access are essential. Wi-Fi will be available.
