In the heart of the Alps, the Centre Universitaire d'Etudes Françaises (CUEF) welcomes you all year round for French courses tailored to your needs and training courses in teaching French as a foreign language.

A meeting place since 1896

Since its creation, the center has developed with a constant focus on quality and innovation. Over the decades, it has acquired and maintained its position as an establishment of excellence for the teaching of French as a Foreign Language (FLE).
The Grenoble CUEF:
- trains some 2,000 students a year from around a hundred different countries,
- welcomes over a thousand candidates to its exam and certification sessions,
- provides training for numerous teachers on overseas assignments,
- has some forty teachers and didacticians with a wide range of specialities, some of whom are authors of reference works and methods.

The Grenoble CUEF provides :
- teacher training and the design of teaching materials,
- joint work on international research and training projects,
- the development of bridging courses to ensure that foreign students, whatever their field of specialization, are optimally integrated into French universities.

Living French in the heart of the Alps

At CUEF, you don't just learn French in the classroom, you also experience it at the heart ofUniversité Grenoble Alpes (UGA), on the university campus and in the Grenoble environment.
Our training offer focuses on two main areas: courses in French language and culture, and training for FLE teachers.
The CUEF is also an examination center, offering courses to prepare for internationally-recognized certifications in French as a Foreign Language, such as the DELF and DALF, or diplomas such as the Diplômes Universitaires d'Études Françaises.

A constantly evolving offer

More recently, we've added courses rooted in the local Rhône-Alpes heritage. For example, you can do FLE and hiking in summer, or skiing and FLE in winter - a great way to combine study and leisure.
In addition to these courses, we are also developing "made-to-measure" offers. As part of theUniversité Grenoble Alpes, CUEF can help you before you start university or throughout your studies.
