Tunisia, through its geographical location, history, and cultures, is a veritable laboratory for researching the changes that Arab societies are undergoing in an increasingly globalized world. Since ancient times, this territory has been defined as a melting pot of languages and cultures, a land of passage, a crossroads of multiple influences that are still visible today (architecture, traditions, cuisine), not to mention the dialectal language that blends Phoenician, Latin, Berber, Arabic, Judeo-Spanish, Turkish, Italian, Spanish, French, and more.
While all these legacies have given rise to the cultural effervescence that the country is experiencing in all areas, they also pose challenges that will be addressed during this round table discussion.
