The French Language Test (TCF) is made up of three mandatory exams and two complementary exams.
It is presented in the form of a multiple-choice questionnaire, with 76 questions in total. Out of the four options offered for each question, only one answer is correct. The questions are presented in progressive order of difficulty, from level A1 to level C2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Note: the CUEF does not offer any additional oral production exam. Therefore, if you are wishing to sit an exam to apply for French citizenship, opt for the DELF, B1 level.
The TCF can be organized at the CUEF on request for groups only.
