French Language and Civilisation Courses - July - Summer School

Students

This course is aimed at students at B1, B2 or C1 level.

Objective

To improve your ability in French while discovering and deepening your knowledge of French society and culture.

Assignment into groups

When you first enrol, you will sit an online positioning test, so that we can assign you to a suitable group for your level.

Content

French language classes: 2 hours per day
Themed classes: 2 hours per day

Themed classes:

Week 1: French culture and society
Week 2: Francophone literature and creative writing
Week 3: French politics
Week 4: Visual arts and introduction to French cinema

Optional: Cultural activities

To supplement classes, a cultural activity may be offered each week.
In-person examples: Trip to the mountains, museum tour, treasure hunt
Remote examples: Video conference on Grenoble, Annecy, or Vercors.

Evaluation

Language classes: evaluation is in the form of assessments throughout the semester across the four skills.
Themed classes: final test.

Details

- Monthly session of 4 weeks, exclusively in the months of July
- 80 hours / month - 20 hours / week
- Classes provided in the mornings, from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm
