Visit and explore: the “French Riviera”, the Côte d’Azur: Monaco

This videoconference on France’s Côte d’Azur, also known as the “French Riviera”, will tell you the story of Monaco. In the late 19th century, this principality lost a large part of its eastern territory. Deprived of its agricultural land and hoping to survive as an independent state, Monaco invested heavily in luxury tourism from 1900. Boasting an exceptional climate and stunning nature, this tiny country quickly attracted wealthy visitors from all over the world, while the government continued to encourage the development of sporting, artistic, scientific, naturalist and other kinds of events.

Dauphiné gastronomy between Savoie and Provence

The historic Dauphiné region corresponds to the three modern-day departments of Drôme, Isère and Hautes-Alpes. Located between Savoie and Provence, this major region has created its own gastronomy, influenced by a range of culinary specialities and varied agriculture. It was mainly in the 20th century, with the development of tourism and culinary arts, that the Dauphiné regions refined their gastronomy and developed their brands and labels.
This videoconference will show you a few ingredients used for Dauphiné specialities that are eaten at family meals, which can be found in certain shops. Some of these specialities are even little-known among Dauphiné locals themselves, but restaurants still offer them, both in cities and countryside, all over the country!
